“Lunch at the Piccadilly” returns to the stage in Spring/Summer 2008, as a collaboration among Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Parkway Playhouse, Playworks, and other theatres. Dates and information about ticket sales will be announced here in January 2007.

The LUNCH AT THE PICCADILLY CD has been getting some nice airplay, most interestingly from a D.J. in Israel named Menachem Vinegrad, of RADIO UPPER GALILEE, which is a part of Israel Radio International. Other stations playing the CD are WFCR "NPR for westernNew England", in Amherst, MA; WHUS, Storrs, CT; KTEP in El Paso, TX; WYSO in Yellow Springs, OH; WFHB in Bloomington, IN; WPKN/WPKM in Montauk LI, NY and Bridgeport, CT; and WRFK in Baton Rouge (home, incidentally, to the Piccadilly Cafeteria chain!)

In addition to concert appearances with Clyde Edgerton and part of the musical trio that forms The Rank Strangers, Mike Craver has been busy arranging the score for and performing in "Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming." Through his production company Playworks, Steve Umberger has been continuing to develop “Lunch at the Piccadilly.” The company will also partner with N.C. Shakespeare Festival to revive Willy Russell’s “Shirley Valentine” for NCSF’s Twin City Series in 08. Umberger also directs the 08 premiere of K.J. Forgette’s “Sherlock Holmes and The Case of the Jersey Lily” for People’s Light and Theatre in Philadelphia, “King Lear” for N.C. Shakespeare Festival, and a workshop production of a new musical “Crossfire,” which places Biblical events in the context of contemporary media.
