You can find out more about regional theatre across the country by visiting the website of The League of Resident Theatres (www.lort.org). LORT is the national alliance of the most established professional U.S. theatres, and on its website (under Member Theatres) you will find links to all the theatres’ websites. Below are a few theatres at which Playworks productions have appeared or artists have been involved. Click on the links to go to the websites.

Theatre Communications Group (www.tcg.org) is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to providing information and nurturing professional theatre.

The Drama Book Shop and Applause have long been two of the country’s best known places to obtain publications and information about theatre resources.

NEW PLAYS

Many theatres have new play festivals, prizes, or development programs, which you can find out more about by visiting the theatres’ websites. Two of the most established are The Eugene O’Neill Playwrights Conference at the O’Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, CT and The Humana Festival at Actor’s Theatre of Louisville. Some new play conferences are independent organizations dedicated specifically to the development of new work, such as the two listed below.
